Jan Orrnert was born and raised in a small town in northern Sweden. From an early age he discovered a love for writing and dreamed of becoming a writer. His parents, however, talked him out of this. That is not a real job, they told him. It was only upon retiring on Skiathos that he returned to his first passion, writing.
